In these video installations, Julieta Maria explores the relationship of the self with the world when it is shaped by violence. She has developed a series of short videos in which she performs for the camera, staging actions using the body and everyday objects in processes of oppression, destruction, reparation: the work reflects on vulnerability and on the attitudes that guide our relationship with the world and with others. The body is the site of states of grief, faith or skepticism, where these are communicated as sensation.
